LETHALITY OR NOT LETHALITY - how to make battles longer?
I love to watch battles up close, they have such fantastic details but in last few total wars, battles are so fast i don't have time to watch it from closer perspective.
Same goes to Dynasties, as far as i love it i wonder if there is some way to make battles lasts longer?

How do You think, if i turn off lethality will battles takes longer time or not?

Lethality gives your units a 10-15% chance of killing an enemy in one hit. If you want your battles to last longer, I'd recommend turning this off.

Aye Viltae will try manual battles with this turned off and see how it is going.

Yes mate, switch off the lethality, its nice idea but too intense at the moment, needs to be tuned right down... some Javelin units have 50% lethality thats way overboard.

Ive seen front facing shielded units die at the gates in short order too much too quickly.

Allrighty will try without lethality now , hope it gets little patched in the future.

Armor reduces lethality. The system makes sense from a realism point of view, I'm undecided on if I will keep it on. Arrows against unarmored and unshielded units can be devastating is the main thing I've noticed.

That's the point , hail of arrows to the unarmored rabble of peasants should be devastating.
On the other hand i like slower battles becouse i like to be able to watch the models fighting in close , there is a lot of cool models and animations which you loose if only micro managing for afar.

Defmonkey, have you seen what a javelin hitting a target is like in real life? It is very lethal and would take some heavy shielding to have a chance of deflection.

I have, and im not going to stand there and let you throw it at me.

For me non-lethality battles are normal in lenght, with lethality quicker. Don't if I just fight differently to others or what. I'm personally trying now without, then plan to return later to Lethality

if one person is throwing at you, then you can dodge fairly easily like Brad Pitt did at Troy, but not a massed formation soaking up a volley of javelins.

Well thats the point im making.... if you throw javelins at a packed unit of men...with no shields you got to get through the ranks of men..... its not going decimate half the unit in one throw.

Don't get me wrong, im for the lethality idea.... its just needs tuning better.

Yeah, good thing is we can make it turn on or turn off or tune it during the campaign.

Be aware that even if you turn it off, ranged units still do a crapton of damage for whatever reason.

I am not sure what to think of lethality yet. I am playing with it on currently, but if you make a mistake it is costly! In my opinion it speeds the battles up alot too. I like the realism aspect of one hit kills though. I am going to press on with lethality turned on, but I do think I prefer it off.

It's a good thing but needs to be toned down a bit if you ask me.

Honestly they could probably just add a few different percentage options for people to choose from. Right now all we have is off, default, or 100%.
I turned it off and I'm loving the battle pace.... 100% if you don't want your battle over in 2 minutes turn this OFF COMPLETELY.
