Well i'll be damned, that's a huge difference lol. Will try this out tonight.
Grahpics are around 30% of quality that we want them to be at, we will improve on it as the game matures. ( Not exact word ) but they did say they were going to improve it, and they said some of it are placeholders for now.
Thanks for that insight. I finally have all the answers to my questions and i really appreciate the tips regarding the medium quality settings. Thanks to all who contributed, and even those who didn't, thanks for the entertaining "debates" :P.
So update me, what did you conclude from looking at pictures of other games?
Thought this was about H1Z1 or am i in the wrong thread?
Also i can see that are starting to accept that this Game H1Z1 may not after all have that bad graphics. Great. You said that after seeing some screen captures linked by another memeber in this thread..
Good to see you are now looking at screenshots. While your at it why not roll back to post#23 (mine) and let me know if those screencaps show graphics you would be happier with. If you want help with tweaking your graphics in H1Z1 then i can help you, no problem.
Also, ftr, not that it matters much but, i was already offline before you posted the screenshots of console games, not as if i ran off in fear lol. Anyway if you want to get some better graphics out of the game like i say i will help you no problem.
Good to see you post an actual response here and engage in a civilized discussion, i'm glad that we can come to terms :). The reason i was being stubborn about the screenshots is because i saw the game myself on my HD monitor and i was underwhelmed by the graphics. But the screenshots posted look much better than what i see, so i'm anxious to test the medium settings out myself when i get home.
Thanks for the offer, but i've been googling quite a bit (at work all day) and it seems that it's true that there's some sort of graphical bug with shadows on high/ultra settings. The screenshots with graphics set to "medium" are much more impressive that what i saw when i was running it in ultra. What settings do you use? Do you think it looks better on medium?
Thats what they said and are still saying about DayZ
DayZ has been in Alpha for years and has about 72 MILLION dollars of sales money.
And it still is a buggy mess
This seems to be the year the dayZ crew will actually address a lot of the issues with the game. If they don't hold true to their word this time, people will finally start to lose faith. With all due respect to the dayZ team, h1z1 seems to be streets ahead if you compare it to dayZ when it launched (SA not mod).
Last patch changed some things, the sun is super bright right now, and it might affect night time as well, they are working on it.
FTR i was a bit of a ♥♥♥♥, got some stuff going on at home right now, so sorry about that :)
No worries at all man, I wasn't exactly being nice either so i'm sorry too. And the fact you apologized really demonstrates that you're a class act, and i have a lot of respect for you for doing so especially because i was being a douche as well. It's hard to own up to things for a lot of people and takes real integrity to do so. So while it doesn't mean much, you certainly have my respect.
And I would love some advice on maximizing the settings. Here's what i'm running:
windows 7x64
i5 4790 3.4ghz
4gb of RAM (i know i need to upgrade this lol)
Nvidia 750 TI 2GB GDDR5
Open it with notepad or similar and you can see there is a section named [Rendering]
This is were you can tweak the graphics further than the current in game GUI will allow. Some settings wont work yet as simply not in the game.
Heres a link to a google document with the settings explained and possible settings the engine will accept.
Best thing is that you try them out and see what the performance hit is on your system. Some of them will kill your framrate but look awesome.
Ambient Occlusion and shadows of any type just kill FPS so i tned to lower them down a bit.
In addition to the render section there is one setting in the above section that also is worth checking out and that is named HDPixelPlus=1.000000
This can be changed up to 2.0 but will really really max your GPU out, shame as its actually enabling SuperSampling and it looks awesome on 2.0, gets rid of all the jagged edges etc.
Heres the link to the google doc, its not mine, no credit here. It mentions PlanetSide 2 but H1Z1 uses forgelight engine also so most renderer settings will already work in H1Z1.
One last thing, once you have edited and saved your useroptions.ini make it Read-only by right click>properties and tick box for Read-only, stops the game writing over your settings on launch.
