Iron Nest Ending (Spoiler Alert)

I've got all the endings and I could understand all the endings except ending 3. For those who have already gotten ending 3, what does this ending try to explain? i understand of what i'm doing but the newspaper gives me rough idea and i don't understand it.

Spoilers for obvious reasons, this is my understanding

Basically the general was a rogue agent who was using the Iron Nest to gain a power bloc and then do a coup d'etat. This is heavily implied by "The king was strangely silent" on the more militaristic endings. The whole war was basically orchestrated by the general starting at Mission 1 and 2.

Anyways, you are the only one who really knows that. The newspaper hints that people stopped asking who fired the first shot. To me it seems like the Anti-Monarchists took control over the Iron Nest and used it to gain independence/control of the government and blamed the king for either being complicit or a stooge who should have known better.

Kind of a stretch at some points but that's what I got out of it.
