Need help understanding what to do
I am on 2nd mission.

first typewriter says
Observation Assets:
Spotter #1 - N10 8:6
Spotter #2 - M1 1:4

second typewriter says
Target #1
bearing 108 from spotter 1
bearing 045 from spotter 2

I have no idea what to do with this information. I can't find anything in game to direct me.

Can someone please explain what I am supposed to be doing.

Thanks

Place those tokens from the left of the map at the spotter locations. Then start dragging lines from the spotters to the edge of the map at the given angles. The two lines will cross, that's where the target is. Later you'll be given only distances without the angles. In that case you'll have to use the compass (the drawing tool) to draw a circle with the given distance.
Triangulation 101:

- Locate the position of both spotters on the map with the blue markers. Making sure to match the marker number with the spotter number will make the next steps more straightforward.

- Using the yellow pencil, click the location for Spotter #1 and drag. As you move the line around, it will show you both the distance and bearing (degrees). Pull the line to the edge of the map and rotate it around the spotter until it indicates the desired bearing, in this case 108°.

- Repeat for Spotter #2.

- Where the two lines intersect is the location of the target.

- Fire away.

- Sometimes the spotters will give you a distance instead of bearing. When this occurs, use the compass (the blue tool at the side of your clipboard, below the pencils) instead of the pencil. If one spotter give distance and another bearing, you'll have a yellow line intersecting the range circle at two locations. At this point, your choices are to either fire on both locations, or recon it (an ability unlocked later in the game) to determine which spot the target is at.

** DO NOT CLEAR THE SPOTTERS OFF THE TABLE! **

As future missions progress, you will be given additional targets based off of their locations. If you clear the table and your clipboard, the typewriter will eventually fill and move the spotter locations up to the spool, rendering them unrecoverable.

Good luck, and Glory to Castille.
thanks for the help
Maybe you should of learned your geometry
It's possible that he might be a visual learner guys and that's totally fine, A lot of us are. Would like to include a video of a link so that maybe he can see it in action.

Thank you.

it's not necessarily about that - i got these datapoints but the game wasn't clear about the significance of these datapoints. i wasn't sure if that meant the Spotter was saying target this location.
since the first real mission tells you there will be two targets in the Mission, and you're given two Coordinates, one could be confused as to what to triangulate when there are two datapoints provided and for all the Player knows, those are the two locations to shoot for this Mission.

so i plotted the two coordinates, and plotted the bearings (from the Cannon), and i didn't know what to do with these 4 pieces of data.

once i saw here that those are the locations of the Spotters themselves, then, "OH!".
The tutorial doesn't teach you what you're supposed to do in the first actual mision. I found it really confusing as well. Not clear at all.

That was me :) 2 mission target. Spotters say target there. Lob shell at coordinates.
Managed to miss them both. I'm sure they lied about their position :)
