Glitches Everywhere
I wanted this for the achievements, the one thing the originals were missing. However, this is full of glitches from the very start. I can't get past the Mirror of Erised level as the game crashes each time I get to the cut scene at the end. And with 9 hours of playing/uninstalling and reinstalling i'm beyond getting a refund. Annoyed because I wanted a little good old days gaming with the achievements.

Probably something on your end gumming up the works. Do the basic triage:

Make sure you have the most recent version of operating system and graphic drivers

Run the game as Administrator- sometimes Windows throws a fit if it does not like some code being transaction.

Make sure the game is on the white list for virus protection(s) you may have.

Verify game files using the steam tool. In some cases, it may identify a corrupt or missing file and NOT be able to install it. That is usually a virus protector or Windows preventing the game from writing folders/files.

Beyond that, check out what programs are running in the background and maybe disable them while playing the game. OBS and streaming software can sometimes create problems even if you are technically not using them in the game.

I have done all of this. However when other people are having the exact same issues in the exact same places you start to think it's actually the game. See - https://steamcommunity.com/app/2950340/discussions/0/4693406471885455819/

The two places mentioned here are the two place that my game glitches and crashes making it impossible to move forward.

If you stick with your theory, you need to contact the Devs and put in a bug report. Posting here does nothing for you. I think you are wrong, it is just other people have not fixed their systems as well. But probably easier to just send in a bug report and sit on your hands...likely for a very long time.
