VEEEERY long loading times [SOLVED!]
UPDATE : Finally got this problem solved! I am sure it was either the HDD or me ignoring the stock drivers altogether and installing them with Driver Booster. I installed Blazblue and Steam to my SSD and now there are no problems at all!

Just a heads-up if anyone is getting loading time problems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys!

I've recently done a fresh reinstall of Windows. I have played Blazblue a lot without issues but since the reinstall I did because Windows was being very slow, Steam has been running slow. But Blazblue... is even slower! The loading times now take about five times as long than before, and I also can't skip the versus cutscenes offline! Otherwise I can perfectly run the game at 60 FPS.

Any advice?

Try installing DX/codec packs/new videocard drivers.

Alright! This option seemed to work. Steam is also faster now. It isn't a complete fix, because sometimes it still takes more than 5-10 seconds to load a stage (previously it took about 1-1,5), but still beggars can't be choosers. Thanks for the help so far!

UPDATE: Nope. It didn't even work! I think it must be a serious issue with Steam or an update broke it or something. Just tried to run BlazBlue and got a black screen on startup then it quit with an error message that BlazBlue stopped working. Is it an issue with Blazblue, Steam, or even my comp?

AMD FX 6300 Processor
AMD R7 260 X card
8GB RAM
500 GB HDD (steam installed here) and 120 GB SSD (windows installed here)

Okay now I am completely out of ideas on wtf is going on here. After a fresh reinstall, installing the latest drivers and the like, steam loads very slowly and the games I start (Blazblue and tried with Black Ops as well) start up now with a black screen, and when I check task manager they are not responding. When I click end task it takes a minute for it to actually be ended.

And I am having a tourney tomorrow...

So which pile of microsoft's ♥♥♥♥ did you install?
Mr.Ownage [FTW] Jan 15, 2016 @ 11:23am
I have Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. I did not install anything else from them expect the obvious ones like Visual C++ and DirectX
Dashiell Jan 15, 2016 @ 11:39am
Well so you didn't install butchered garbage new windows so it should work normally.
Btw 32bit OS is limited to 4GB Ram, you have 4 sitting idly, never ever buy 32 bit versions.
So do you have
full Directx 9.0c
Microsoft .NET framework 4.5.2
Download Visual C++ Redistributable
CCCP video codecs
AMD gpu drivers (also make sure to uninstal raptr and gaming evolved both are piles of ♥♥♥♥) - just in case try downgrading them if nothing works
installed

welp I can't think of anything else atm that would cause slowdowns beside that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ installed along amd drivers.

Thanks for your rapid response.

I have not tried to uninstall raptr and gaming evolved yet and I didn't know that they suck so much. Also maybe I was missing on the GPU drivers, any advice where can I get them?

I have enabled an option of hardware-decoding or something like this in steam that seems to have helped a little(no more fps drop in black ops) but the slow loading times and freezes remain. Oh my, maybe time to bring the rig to a service?
Dashiell Jan 15, 2016 @ 12:01pm
Nah if you were fine before windows reinstall that means that you either have something installed or not installed that causes this and service is not needed ...ever.

Uninstalling these 2 crapwares should be your priority atm because they like to "auto optimize" (read ♥♥♥♥ up) your gaming experience.

In home streaming options are literally useless unless you're using big picture mode to transmit screen to tv.

Yeah I was pretty fine but when I switched to Win 7 to Win 8 that's when the problems came. For the first few times Steam was alright and after a bit it became much worse. Either I forgot to download a driver or two or I didn't uninstall these 2 yet. Will try and see how it works out.

"Fine" is not really an accurate term : With Win 8 I had random, complete freezes and the occasional BSoD. With Win 7 I've never frozen completely once but I can't even open a game because of the 20-30 second loading time or just freezing when I click a menu (create-a-class in Black Ops for example)

Oh. I HAVE uninstalled Gaming Evolved and Raptr but still no go. If it helps, the programs (other than Steam, the games and the obvious stuff) I have on the computer currently are ASRock utilities (eXtreme tuner, app charger, asus gpu tweak and asrock XFast RAM. I've got Framework 4.6 and tried AMD's crimson driver which also has been a failure so far). Thanks for your cooperation so far however!

You can always try gpu-z and cpu-z to see if your parts are overheating during gaming, stock cpu radiators are just bad, gpu depends on version you bought.
Mr.Ownage [FTW] Jan 15, 2016 @ 1:14pm
I have not checked the heating yet so far, but in it's 1,5 years "of service" (gaming) it has been no problem, wonder why would performance change so much in 2-3 days. I have a Contac 16 cooler, don't know exactly if it will do in the long run.

Also, going to reinstall to a 64bit version, 50% of my RAM isn't even doing the work with 32 bit version.
