This is a Master Piece of game thats every body must play!

A really unique RTS experience marred by some technical glitches.

Its a hard recommendation due to some of the flaws, but there is a gem of a game here to explore if you are interested in RTS space sims.

Wow, absurd how good this runs on Steam Deck. Well impressed.. Smooth and all commands work well out of the box..

This is a great little space-based RTS. Absolutely no issues running it on Proton. The graphics are really amazing for an older game, amazing even for a newer game. UI does take a while to get used to, but not that bad. Bought this game and Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage for less than $1 a couple days ago.. can't believe they were so inexpensive. Maybe due to issues running on other OS's? I'm really enjoying it.

I played it on Linux after picking it up in a $1 bundle.
In short, this is a classic "Eurojunk" game from Hungary. The developer of this game now works in a CGI company or AAA studio (the lead developer worked on Crysis) and you can tell by the quality of the effects, the cinematography and the soundtrack. The main problem is that everything else is not so good: there are a lot of great ideas, but the controls and the UI seem so incomplete, as if the whole game was rushed after having done the 60% of it.
It's a shame, because I had more fun with it than, say, Stellaris or any of today's 4x.
The story isn't that interesting, but I appreciate the setting.
I suggest you play it just out of curiosity or if you want to explore the incredible world of "Eurojunk" games.

Amazing game

Was there space before Stellaris?.. Yep, there was. And it's Haegemonia series, which consist of only two games, this original one and its stand-alone expansion pack, The Solon Heritage. The games were pretty good for its time. I played Haegemonia in the early 2000s and for some reason I missed Homeworld series all together. And I must say that before release of Sins of Solar Empire in 2008 there wasn't any other space RTS with similar gameplay formula.

Epic strategy. Played through it multiple times back in the day. Not the brightest star of Digital Reality, but almost as good as IG.
