Sound System Error Fix for Haegemonia: Legions of Iron [SOLVED]

Hello,

I share this if I can help.

- Go and download Hgm_Soundfix from here: http://www.moddb.com/downloads/haegemonia-legions-of-iron-sound-system-fix

- Then backup hgm.exe in your steam/common/haegemonia... and overwrite it from the one you downloaded.

- Put compatibility for windows xp service 3 and administrator rights.

- Then go to gamecopyworld.com and download Haegemonia v1.10 [GERMAN] No-CD/Fixed Image from here:http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_haegemonia.shtml

- Once downloaded extract and mount iso in daemon tools.

Finally execute haegemonia from steam and thats all.

NOTE: Playing with Windows 8

Just switched over to this exe hopefully it fixed the sound error cause it's freaking crashing every 20 mins or so lol

Yeah 15+ hours no more crashes the exe fix is so worth it lol now to mod the graphics and unit caps lol

Too bad the Steam fix on moddb doesn't work under Windows 10; it causes the game to crash immediately after the intro (that was the old problem that Steam has since fixed, and the moddb exe uses that old executable). I have made a request to the mod creator to update his fix, but there's no telling whether or not he'll do it.

Lucky you.It worked flawlessly for me until e3m2 .. I can't pass the mission with it because the game crashes on the Completion screen.Replaced the fix with the original Game.exe and proceeded to the next mission only to find the fix not working again,this time - crashing on launch. It's not the sound error mind you,it's the "stopped working" bs.

Edit: I figured out what it was. The game crashes on e3m2's ending where this asian general tells you they need help in Beta before the mission ends. When I ran the game with Windows XP service 3 it didn't crash.

Just so you're all aware, dude updated his fix for the new version of the executable. Use the file from the OP and it should fix the problem.

Someone can please, give me a step-by-step guide of how to use this damn fix? I do that once, years ago, but now I forget how to do it!

The Steam fix is just Game.exe, same as the GOG version. I thing hgm.exe might have been the euro version or a different build.

No problem. From personal experience, the fix seems to be working pretty well on my GOG version; no crashes yet!

Confirming that the Steam version of the fix WORKS on Windows 10 without any compatibility options other than what Steam pre-sets on installation. Crashed quite soon when launching without fix; installed fix, game ran for hours afterwards with zero crashes.

ill try to explain what i have learnt over the decades of playing pc games , most of the games made on cd never bother to put in unversial exe , or other ways of playing on many diff device types which lead to errors in instalation if you were lucky , u get a refund.

but most that had no prob installing the game would 90% of the time have the no disk in drive error which they wouldnt help with to fix and many assumed we copeid the game and then got a rufund cheating , but they all ready knew full well about issiue and tryed to claim all of those sales were thefts from them and push game price up .
gamecopyworld was created to allow ppl who paid money for a product that never was fixed by devs and publish houses and just left a bad taste in mouth .

note; running win10-64b in game today started has my new screen reso 2560-1440p set played for 10 or so then shut down np so no errors on my side .

i dont remember ever seeing those files on gamecopyworld when i was looking for my version of any game folder of games i had paid for.
