Widescreen support?
This game normally doesn't have it so question is does the steam version have it?

I highly doubt it, but it would be immensely awesome if it did.

Most of these older games that making on steam, no matter how good they are/were, dont have to many changes made to them. They just slapped on here with the most recent patches so whoever can make a lil extra cash off them.

I just see it as morally wrong to be honest, i mean if i am going to sell it, i would make sure its working as i would want it to work first, but sadly, they try to avoid spending money where possible, its a company trait.

Baseline (Widescreen) Solution & Issues
Go into the registry editor

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Digital Reality/Haegemonia

To input a resolution for example 1680x1050:

ResolutionX = 1680
ResolutionY = 1050

I have noticed that if I go into the options/load menu within the game, these registry values reset to 800x600. Now this means you will have to change these values before playing the game everytime IF you went into the options/load menu previously playing the game.

I know this isnt a FULL solution but atleast you have widescreen

For those who might find this while trying to get Hegemonia to run full screen under Windows 7 the appropriate registry entires are slightly moved.

The correct path is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeDigital RealityHaegemonia

Windows 7 has much in common with Vista, including many registry entry locations, so this may pertain to Windows Vista users as well.

you do know that, if you can't go into the options/load menu, you can not load a game......

Not that problem, as you can find your optimal settings, after that remove with regedt32 the right of changing value and delete. I tested it for my CD version of this game and it works, should do the same with the steam version i think.

Please explain. I don't undestand what i should remove. I know the registry hack, but entering the load/options menu resets the resolution.

You can remove the permissions to change the registry setting from the user you run the game with, so the game cannot change it anymore. Doesn't work if you run everything as admin obviously. To do that go to 'Edit->Permissions' in the regedit menu.

I use everything with admin access sadly, with experience, alot of stuff tends to not work without admin access....wouldn't it be more better to be able to prevent a game from making changes??

Might as well just buy it from GOG instead if the Steam version literally has no support put into it.

I just edited the resolutions in the config file in the splash folder and got it to work. It got the FMV videos to work as well. I also ran the game in compatibility mode under Windows 2000 for the hell of it.
