Missing things like messages and texts about side missions.
Missing hero name,
Strange ship names like B and T just like you said.
The economy is what the hell? I mean you cant get enought money even to keep up your ships at start of a mission?
I played this many times and i dont remember things like this.
Steam answer please. What version is this?
It is buggy. There is a good one somewhere...
You can display health bars by pressing L in 3d mode or toggle them on/off by shift+L
YT video you've seen could just be modded version as far as it is easy enough so you can literally write custom maps with notepad and create new units, and frankly TSH files are compatible with LOI if you know what you're doing
Can you link that video? I'm curious about graphics settings you mentioned.
Afaik Haeg has widescreen support only in android port version.
In that steam vesrion, i have up to 1600x1200, keeping in mind i played 1024x768 being kid - not that bad, but yeah i would like to see UI without stretching and scale on a modern display
Edit: Although yeah i have slight mistakes here like few missing names and stretched research list. Just downloaded torrent of my old version (says it is 1.07 compared to steam's 1.09) to test because i thought it is windows 10 issue and yeah these 2 problems are non existent there. But it is not much of a problem as far as resolution and UI scaling problems are the same just because game is old.
I wonder why they haven't added full hd support here while it exists in mobile port.
It can be related to diffuculty level because those are basically enemy hp multiplier and amount of free income. Some missions supposed to be money tight on their own, but they are all doable (just never ever colonize gamma in e2m1 because you will not be able to save residential base in e2m3 then) except maybe yarbo invasion that can be one hell of a challenge on hard.
Economy is not a part of this game at all. All you need to be alright is to have interstellar merchants and a planet in another system or ally for them to be effective, til then just use mining bases. There is no economic balance at all, you either have income and can spam anything or struggle, exact numbers mean nothing.
