whats the diffence between the classic and normal options when I start the game?

As far as I can tell the differences are huge. Classic lets you choose a difficulty level while Normal I think the game is very casual and laid back - I'm not even sure if you can die on Normal mode. However, a lot of the puzzles are simplified in Normal and some parts of the game are skipped entirely.

It's not a bad thing, but if you want the "true Shadowgate experience" you should try Classic mode on Journeyman or Master. At least I find that a lot more enjoyable!
