Will Shadowgate 64 ever see a return?

Hi, I really enjoyed the original Shadowgate and this remake is even better.

A game which I enjoyed even more is Shadowgate 64, though, which was the only Shadowgate game in which you could freely walk around from a first person perspective. Does anyone know any games like that? Or if anyone is building a remake of that?

Well, Zojoi is purportedly developing "Beyond Shadowgate", a sequel to this game. It includes some elements from Shadowgate 64 including the main protagonist Del Cottonwood.
