Once you have it all figured out and speedrun it, an hour maybe?
Casually playing when you know what you're doing? 2-4 hrs.
I don't know how to PM. Haha I fail...
I can help you out though!
The following paragraphs I wrote in this post have been very thouroughly criticized and debunked by the user terrisus, so you should probably skip this post altogether.
The median GameFAQs walkthrough[www.gamefaqs.com] appears to be ~20kb, including typist credits and moderate introductory speeches. So, I'd say the average game length, assuming one knows the ropes, would be somewhere around... maybe half an hour or so? Maybe 15 minutes if you're particularly adept with a mouse and keyboard? I'm really spitballing here, but that seems to fit with the facts at hand.
You'll notice that estimate is based on the original Shadowgate. Since Shadowgate is (as I understand it) a fully-faithful re-imagining of Shadowgate, the estimated game length of Shadowgate proably isn't too dissimilar from that of Shadowgate, and as a result I imagine Shadowgate probably can be completed just about as quickly as Shadowgate. The reviews on the Steam page seem to agree that Shadowgate is a perfect re-imagining of Shadowagte, and that Shadowgate doesn't unnecessarily change anything about Shadowgate that made Shadowgate Shadowgate. Shadowgate!
I should note that my information is based purely on observational analysis, and I can't personally speak as to the length of time a typical once-again run-through or speed-run of Shadowgate takes.
No, your information is based on being high as ♥♥♥♥.
Are you okay, friend? You can tell us whatever you're going through; you don't have to shoulder that burden all on your own. Don't bottle up your anger and sadness inside yourself until it all explodes like that - it's not necessary, or healthy! We're here for you, and our shoulders are always open for you to cry on!
What a strange post. I'm really not sure what to make of it.
As one of the writers of those aforementioned walkthroughs, there's not very much correlation between file size and game length. There can be huge walkthroughs for short games, and small walkthroughs for long games. And even so, I'm not really sure where a 1kb~1minute correlation would come from.
Then, the second part of the post is based on an erroneous assumption, since there's much more here than was in the original Shadowgate.
And lastly,, a review of literature isn't "observational analysis." Observational analysis would be watching people play through the game. A review of literature is just that - a review of literature.
