Unless
Steam Deck not hitting 60fps on lowest settings
Has the game been tested on Steam Deck, something felt off and not 100% smooth with the movement so I put the FPS tracker on and it's not hitting 60. I'm playing docked, have downscaled to 720p, turned Vsync on, set visual FX to 'none' and it's fluctuating between 52 to 56 FPS.

You may think that's basically 60 and I'm just being nitpicky but it's really noticeable in twitchy platformer games like this, the flow feels wrong, has it been tested and if so is there any settings I can change to make it run at a solid 60?

The game was tested on my partner’s Steam Deck OLED; it hits 60 FPS at maximum settings with Fields of Mysteria running in the background.
I know the OLED is slightly more powerful than the regular Steam Deck, so which version are you playing on?

Okay, I've asked our community to see if anyone else is running into this same performance issue. In the meantime, if you scroll to the bottom of the Audio and Visual options, you can toggle the "Reduce Visual Intensity" option to "Reduced" as this will eliminate particles from displaying and see if that improves performance.
We will continue to investigate this issue because using "Reduce Visual Intensity" should not be necessary.
...and I guess standard tech support question of; did you try turning it off and on again? (Hard power off the Steam Deck and reboot). Hate to ask, but it does help sometimes.

Thanks for getting back to me super quick, just did a bit more testing, tried what you suggested. I realised I hadn't tried the game in handheld yet and weirdly undocked I can get consistent 60fps on highest settings and then as soon as I dock it it hits the same issue.

This is a complete stab in the dark and I'm not very technically minded but could it be something to do with the refresh rate of the monitor not lining up with the in game settings or something?
I see! Firstly, I should apologize because I should have paid more attention to your original post when you mentioned the Steam Deck was docked; I don’t own a dock, so this is not a scenario I was able to test.
Could you give me a couple extra details?
1. Which dock are you using?
2. What is the refresh rate *and resolution of the monitor you have connected?
Unless has support for higher refresh monitors, but on the Steam Deck, we might need to cap this to 60 FPS to ensure consistency.
Thanks again for your help and patience as we investigate this issue!

No worries, the dock is the most popular one from Jsaux, it's a very basic monitor so I assume the refresh rate is 60, I tried capping the FPS at 60 as I thought that may fix it but no. The resolution is 1920x1080 but I usually downcale in the options so it's probably not relevant. If nobody else has the issue whilst docked it might just be something dodgy on my end. Either way, it's not a massive problem, I had a lovely few hours playing this today undocked, great game.
Thanks for the additional details. We'll have to see if anyone else reports the issue so we can try to narrow down on the problem.
One thing to note is that While Unless does have an option to decrease the "Window Scale" that only applies if the game is in Windowed mode, otherwise it will match the full resolution of the monitor if the game is in full-screen.
It's possible that running at 1080p instead of 720p is just a bit beyond what the Steam Deck can handle when running Unless, so I don't know if there are any options in the Steam Deck or on your monitor to limit the display resolution externally.
I sincerely appreciate your patience in this matter, thanks again for playing the game!

That's a very good point, there is an option on Steam Deck to reduce the resolution before opening the game, just tried it and it improved it to 58fps docked which is close enough tbh, thanks for the troubleshooting!
