Insane ping spikes

My ping in this game is absolutely terrible. I usually play on 50 - 60 ping which is more then fine for me but in this game no way. Im at 50 ping and from one to the next second my ping jumps to 300 and the game becomes unplayable for the next few seconds. This happens several times throughout every match. One time my ping spiked to 1100ms. Apparently its due to "Choke" and "route flapping", at least thats what it says ingame. This happens in no other game. I enjoy the game overall but this is seriously impacting the way im able to play.

Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a fix to this? If not i just wont be able to play this game at all

same honestly. i'm on mobile data but legit no games do this for me lol. it's so weird. this neds to be reported to the devs

This issue is known to the devs. I asked a little in the official discord and apparently plenty of people experience this. Not sure if you are aware or not but this exclusively happens in the "shard clash" game mode. Any other game mode works fine. This should hopefully be fixed in the next few days

Battle(non)sense made a great analysis of these services years ago - this video is still very much relevant

me and some other people have figured out that this game most likely causes lag intentionally to some people. I know it sounds weird but there isnt exactly any other reason for the lag to be there.

Everyone who experienced major lag in the game mode "Shard clash" wrote something to the customer support but we all were left with some automated message. Once they did actually respond they all gave the same bullsh*t answer: "Hey, we noticed you are experiencing lag with out game. We are partnered with GearUp boost, so you will be able to boost Fragpunk for free!". Instead of actually looking for a solution ( or looking for the problem in the first place ) they just make us piss off with some "Ping booster" software that they are partnered with. This is obviously them trying to make money. The lag that we experience in this game we experience nowhere else, so the only logical reason is that the lag is caused intentionally just to promote their weird partnered software. This game was really fun but this is just making it a hard pass for most of us

am i the only one who got an in-game mail in the Mailbox (where you claim certain rewards) about the exact same ping booster software?
it legit says something along the lines of "We detected you're lagging, and that's frustrating. Thankfully we have a fix; download GearUp, which is completely free for FragPunk players"
this is so unbelivably scummy. we need to talk about this to the press

Exactly thats what im talking about. No other dev team in the world would react like that to their community complaining about connection issues. They would say "We have heard your troubles with connections and we will look into it" or anything along those lines. Instead of doing that they sell us some crappy ping booster ( which doesnt work btw ) because they want to make money. This is by far one of the worst scams in gaming i have seen in a long time

What is strange is i had ping going upper 100 all time.
I tried their program it worked a lil bit.
Now i play without start the program and i have no more issues ...

So you just did exactly what they wanted you to do. I know it sucks but its best that you dont play the game at all anymore rather then falling for their scams.

Can confirm installing GearUP once immediately removes any ping spikes lol. Gonna try and uninstall to see if it truly is just a scam.
