Be careful = Chinese programs which may potentially monitor your data.
This game attempts to install intrusive NetEase software to your device on launch. There is no oversight over Chinese companies and they do not follow any principles of ethics. Upon installation, your data might become compromised over a longer period of time.

If you do risk just to try another hero shooter, look up how to clean your device registry and of traces of any possible spy software. Do not gamble with your security!

The lack of interest for secure processes and legal frameworks from the Chinese government, as well as lack of insight into the software for anyone else outside of China, is a big risk for anyone who understands cybersecurity. Better safe than sorry, we've already had miners uploaded to Steam before, I'm not saying this is happening again, but it can happen anytime.

There is a fine line between raising awareness and scaremongering.

OP uses the internet and complains about security issues? Good one dude. If you're afraid of data collection then why are you here online?

You have obv no idea what you're talking about. I've worked in cybersecurity and you got no clue how things work.

Where is your evidence clown guy?

You keep saying these things without any notations of articles or facts of evidence.

Community Notes is definitely needed for posts like yours. You're basing your own opinions on absolutely no facts.
Articles on what exactly? If you do not worry about your data security, at least don't make it sound like it doesn't matter to everyone else. There is a risk, I've highlighted it, end of conversation.

Whether it works on Linux or not is not relevant to the potential risk presented by a Chinese company collecting your PC/user data.

Linux can not run kernel level anti-cheat, hell the game is not even native for Linux, its running on Proton meaning it can only access a fake Windows environment not full access to your actual system like on Windows, yes I have concerns with China too and one way of proving theyre not super malicious is to support linux where none of that Windows kernel spyware ♥♥♥♥ flies. Does this game require to register an account to play? If not im playing it just for that, why not a friend wanted to play but im usually skeptical.
Not like Delta Force that I was excited for then they put in that cancer tencent "anticheat" and require an account when the beta didnt need one clearly proving it works without and its just a cheap data grab. I still don't like the game is chinese but if its good and its not engaging in these anti-consumer practices (that most western studios use aswell) I won't have much to complain about.

Fragpunk offers third-party Accounts for you to use within the Game. You can use your Steam Account and log in ✅
Its not mandatory to make extra account like Ubisoft/EA/Delta Force/etc?

Chinese government is the least of your worries. Chinese organised crime rigns have outreach far beyond China's borders and have impact on both business and individuals in the EU, US and Asian countries.

This is what you think as you have no understanding of the issue. Every piece of data can be used to leverage advantage for organised online criminals and fraudsters. If you believe youself to be unimportant, in the very least, do not extrapolate this simplistic worldview to everyone else.

You do that then, go save the world, wish you all the best

Are you going to ignore PirateFi? The fake game that was basically a trojan virus and got exposed?

That was one game that got attention, but there are countless games on steam. To say there aren't more games like that lurking on steam is just delusional.
