Beta proved pc cant be trusted with aim assist. You could literally make the game think you are using a controller while still using mouse and keyboard it was so busted could rack up hundreds of kills in ffa/tdm while normal m/k or controller plebs were still trying to get in to double digits. I for one would love to see aim assist back so i can abuse the crap out of it

Please read my mathematical breakdown in a previous comment on why this is incorrect. If you have issues with this it's a skill issue. And no, I'm not saying it as "sKilL iSsUe" to be patronizing. I'm genuinely saying that if someone on a mnk can't keep up with controller even when including all current aim assist systems such as COD like or Halo systems it is irrefutably a skill issue on the mnk players part.

Mnk has many orders of magnitude advantage. Aim assist is to bring the skill gaps closer together. But even with aim assist the skill ceiling is much lower on a controller because aim assist can limit usability.

Just because a person can play piano with their feet doesn't mean they should, nor does it make it optimal.

Mind you it's players that still wouldn't be able to compete with top level mnk players because it's physically impossible. Which is why aim assist exists in the first place. To lessen the gap.

Players can close the gap with game knowledge but there's a hard clamp on controller skill. Even with aim assist . That doesn't exist on mnk.

Yeah it is so fair every COD and Apex Legends top players are on controller. And pro mnk players switch to controller, just a skill gap problem for sure

Programming wise that's actually a super easy fix. There's multiple ways to address it. Digital encrypted signature checks for supported devices. Blacklisting programs such as ReWASD or other spoofing programs. Code that checks for non analog input. Keyboards that aren't hall effect can't produce an analog signal. Only integers of -0, 0 and 1. If this input is detected it would get no aim assist. If programs bypass the blacklisting and simulate timed events you can program a check to look for timed acceleration of movement. Store them in an array and if that's picked up by anticheat boot the players.

Honestly pretty easy to protect against. One of the easier things to mitigate cheating wise. The reason the big companies don't apply any of these fixes is because it doesn't produce a profit. It would make the playerbases smaller actually. The easiest one is a hardware signature that utilizes an encryption token that can only be accessed per game. That way they can't be spoofed. But no one will do that. Cause y'know...profit.

Seems to me that if you had spent as much time moving your mouse as you did writing online, you probably wouldn’t need a controller. :trump:
