Any way to get "free" Fragpunk points, just for unlocking a character?

I can't find anything that gives "free" Fragpunk points. Do I understand it correctly that you can't unlock any character without spending any money?

You unlock them with Gold too.
It´s kinda easy to get the Lancers (Characters) unlocked with gold since you earn it everywhere.
I unlocked all without paying after ~35 hours of gametime (For example)
