GearUP Booster

Just received an in-game message about how "our system detected high-latency packet loss for your network" and telling me I should get GearUp Booster, which I can get it for free since they're partnering with FragPunk. I'm not even sure what GearUp is, I guess it's like ExitLag?
Anyone else getting this notification? What's odd is that last time I played the network seemed fine, but today when I played a little loading screen seemed to pop-up from time to time. Not enough to ruin my game, but it wasn't there before. I've been having a lot of fun with the game, and I'm not about to start going off on a schizo theory, but I'm not sure how I feel about in-game ads for outside software that supposedly "boosts" performance.

I got it last time my internet went down. It probably detected your connection being unstable randomly before that.
