Balance in general, regardless of what you saw does need some balancing as well. A few of the abilities were very clearly stronger than others, and some of the weapons were very obviously better and played much more than others. The weapon thing can be argued that because you can't infinitely use the same weapon if you die with it, taking the good weapon can be a bit more strategic, and I would agree to an extent. That being said I do think some of the others were a bit more underwhelming and I had no reason to take them over the course of a match. On the topic of weapons, some thought may need to go into what happens when ranked mode is released that presumably has more rounds and the pool of weapons is no longer enough.
I understand wanting it to release, but I don't think many people understand the work that has to go into what I laid out above. A lot of work has to go into the creation and balance of maps and characters to be ready for release.
A. Enough content to keep people satisfied until new content can be released for a live service type of game. This is to include maps, Characters, modes, cards, or anything else along these lines
and
B. Balance. Regardless of what you're satisfied with doesn't matter. The majority of the player base has to be happy, not to mention that this style game is almost ALWAYS going to be a competitive game, and the competitive crowd needs balance. On the topic of balance as well, any character and map, or anything else for that matter will need extensive testing and balancing to make sure they have no issues. Considering you agree that they need more maps and lancers to come out, then it needs to be understood that creating these things take time, and properly testing and balancing these things take time.
No game will ever have "perfect balance" but if you don't get it as close to the mark as possible, you're going to fail.
Well what about more early access time then :P
You can't win these days.
People: release the game it's fine we played the beta everything was great. Just fix it after and let us play.
So people: why did you release the game early it's nowhere near ready I'm bored now, everything is broken
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The point of the playtests are to test the things that devs are working on, us getting enjoyment is secondary to that. They already have more playtests planned, but that won't happen until they have enough new things to test to be meaningfully worthwhile to them.
Personally I'm glad they're not trying to release into early access. More developers need to be committed to releasing finished products
You really can't, no matter what you're not satisfying some subset of your playerbase.
That being the case, IMO you're better off upsetting the ones that want it now and release the game when it's done and polished. You'll have a better game for it and the group that wanted it then will still come back. If you release early to appease the latter group though, the former group will leave.
