[SPOILERS] girl quest outcome question
i found some scientists and they asked me to transport a girl to another base. eventually i find out she is immune and they are going to cut her up to cure the zombie virus. i intervene and now have her as a crew member.

what would have been the outcome had i not intervened? did i just doom humanity?

What kind of humanity chops her up?

Also, if she has developed immunity, others might too.

As for the practical side, you gain a decent crewmember who also has innate immunity, and no negative traits.
It's a character that you can tweak using skill points/traits.

And it's also probably a nod to another game.

She's a garbage character. I ended up dumping her on the sidewalk, when I drove to the secret base ( I got tired of having to turn down a bunch of people who wanted to join, but I lacked the spare truck seats ).

She's probably only useful as a farmhand ( if you are re-building a city ).

I mean... she's a kid... she can drive... she can't drink... and most egregious of all, the developers recently put a stop to kids being companions for adults ( like the movie "Hard Candy" (2005) ).

How good of a character are you, when the most optimistic thing that I noticed about her, is that she has an appetite of 2 ( so she eats less than a dog or adult ).

I took the cat back before I kicked her out of the truck.

If you are playing in salary mode, the people that you rescue don't receive a monthly pay check.

As a collection of stupidity, that was a wonderful post.

As for the Girl, she has no negative skills or traits which means she won't disrupt a good crew. Speech is fairly high so she doesn't ruin that. As for other skills, Cooking is high but nothing else of note.
By the time you get her, you already have your important skills covered so her contribution is chiefly as an extra driver and shooter. Or Cook if you haven't got one already.
Oh, and she cannot become infected. Ever.

NEVER drop free characters you numbnut-.- they dont cost salary, and she is a great char for crafting and ♥♥♥♥ in your base, and if you level her in other stuff she gets even more useful
Plus if you get a free char with -traits, level to lvl 3 and remove 1 of them

Bring them in a city and MAn the wall put ammo in it and food water so they dont die...
and then collect the rest.

Dont go into the "?"s with more than your Hero...cause usually number 2 or 3 dies
If you focus your main char on crafting, craft good gear so he/she can survive solo, also equip the truck in that way (1#Gun and accuracy plus melee damage +10 &+16)

Well... you have 29 hours, barely scratched the surface of the game, never got even close to finishing it ( probably never will ) and have next to no achievements, so what would you know?

I have close to 100 hours, finished the game and have all the things.

Negative traits are meaningless, since you can use 3 skill points to - traits.

Cooking is high? You do realize that cooking is based on the highest cooking stat?

Yeah that's all wonderful if you have a base...

you always have 4 or 5 maybe its just 3...
But you have them from start on.
GO to Starlight City, tada you now own a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ brokendown "village"
If you want to leave people there, make sure to man the walls first with strong fighters+ equipment

there is one east, one west and one middle/south, that you can rebuild (dont store stuff in the ones you dont protect with people on the wall)

reload and go there when you got space...ofc if its hitchhikers you dont have much choice about what to do, i personally only drive around alone, exactly for that reason.
But at some point ill need a second gunner because the Mega Plague zones already cover over 50% of the map, and those are huge hordes with a lot of modifiers...

Sheesh people are so weird the way they act like video games were meant to only be played the way they played them.
Simple facts- Free is free and free is good in the wasteland.
A character who with 1 level, can pull a bucket up from the well... is literally worth their weight in water.
If you played this game for one hour or 7,000 hours... You've learned that utilizing your FREE towns, is a good idea.
In Ironman save scumming is off, so having anyone at all to man (or wo-man in this case) the wheel can save your whole game.
My first and current playthrough has had some awful downfalls. More bad than good, which is the way I find fun. But nothing is as bad as getting infected. You can't de-stress with food, only human flesh. Which is basically non-existent. So you end up making an infected character an alcoholic which has alot of drawbacks. Anyway- she is immune. That headache goes away with her at least.
RP fact- You're not gonna let a little girl get chopped up for no reason (you don't get a cure). 90% of post apocalyptic movies involve the fate of humanity being saved, by rescuing or protecting some girl or another.

End of the day you should make your own call on how you play it. Of course you really just have FOMO (fear of missing out) and wanted to know the other result. She gets chopped up and you get so-so rewards. Nothing nearly as valuable as her herself.

Also I should note my own FOMO in another quest, brought me here incidentally. Lol

Not that I would change my choices, but this quest screwed me over. One crew member joined the scientists, lost another saving the girl, my main member got infected, and then afterwards traveling with just my main and the girl. They decided they hated each other...

I just finished this quest. I lost two crew members. One joined the scientists and one died. I just found the one that died in a bar. Still has all his stats and his negative traits are still gone. I can just re-recruit him. Is this normal when a crew member dies?

I instantly failed this quest because I was full and the Girl went to go vibe somewhere too far for me to get there in time.
