Workers skill
Are there any tricks to finding skilled workers? The best I can get are sub 15 for farming/husbandry. And sadly they don't get experience on the job, they stay as bad as they start out.
So where to find decent workers for your settlement? And is it planned that they level up at some point in the game (it is early access after all) or will they be bad forever?

See, I've just been keeping a seat open. Hire someone either through labour or no faction in tavern that has skills in what I want.
Then drag them around a trade circuit. Even with kind of suck skills, a few levels is all that is needed to hit 2x production skill level for most people.

Note: A LOT of the no faction people hanging in bars have fairly good, if not at least decent, skill levels in farming/husbandry. There are a lot of ranchers/farmers hanging out in bars ;)

edit: And even better, since they aren't going to be on your 'crew', you don't give a damn about the traits, so hire anyone that has the skills you need!

Hire your generic town workers via the labor market in the bar. You can easily fill positions that need farming, husbandry, and crafting this way.

The production positions that need speech are harder to fill. Easiest way is to save scum a labor market hire with a decent starting speech, then level the worker up a few levels per madpraxis' trade circuit above and it should be good enough.

Lastly, remember that once you have the extra resources, you can craft hats and clothing that increase the worker's relevant skill level quite a bit.

Thank you, I mostly hired and dumped them, never thought about dragging them along for a while to get them to a decent level.
I thought/hoped they get some xp on the job and wondered where to find better hires. I seem to have been unlucky when hiring, never seen a farmer with more than 10 at farming. (from the bar, not the people hanging around)

In the bar obviously?

The 'No Faction' people in bars are a gold mine. Entice them away, though you will take a faction hit!
Oh...wait...no faction ;)

By the way, people working in your towns do gain experience. It's just very, very slow.

Craft gear for them, it will add bonus to skills that they will need.
