Click on the colonist, go to their Bio, and, I forgot which tab, you see an option on the top right of the info box to banish them.
The only time I've had a colonist who was a complete dead weight was when I started with an old guy with smokleaf addiction and asthma. The penalties for smokeleaf withdrawal combined with his other problems meant he barely moved. Eventually he recovered, but it was a lot of time invested with him in bed recovering.
For the most part, though, I've found absolutely everyone to have some value. Worst case, they haul things and clean up.
If they won't do dumb labor, usually there's something. I had a Medieval Minstrel who wouldn't do skilled labor and wouldn't haul, but he did produce art and recruit prisoners. Ultimately he did nothing all day but make statutes, and that proved to be worthwhile.
Only the strong survive
I kick a lot of people! If people can't get it together, I kick them out. If someone murders someone else, I strip him and kick his ass out on the road! If someone can't get over dead family, f em! I can be really savage when it comes to this game. One time someone destroyed 50 components in a tantrum and well, he wasn't welcome anymore. 😡
I'm also like Mr Grapple. I have some favourite colonists and some pains in the bum. I shot one who went on an insult spree directly after the conclusion of a really bad fight with mechs. Everyone was downed, in the field I might add, and only him and one other were capable of healing. He decided to screw with the other pawn saving people.
Bang! He's down. I let him die after stripping him. I don't have time for a$$hats.
Sounds like a nice hat to me or armchair. Depends on your taste
and try not to sell them if they have a loved/liked one. 2 year debuff for "loved one sold" is kinda "turn me to a hat".
Really, 2 year debuff?
