Registered Trader Quest
First of all, I'm totally addicted to this game and am having a lot of fun with it despite the various kinks, most of which you can ignore or just try different things until it works.

The one thing that is eluding me is the registered trader quest. Once I figured out which were Barbarian cities (Sharsuun & Reshun) and which were Empire (all the ones in the middle/valley..?), that helped me get 2/4 completed but I'm stuck there. No matter what I do, I can't get past 2/4 trade missions completed.

Things I've tried:
- trading a single item in bulk each trip (got 2/4 triggered)
- bought at least 50 of every single item and sold it all each trip wether it was a profit or not (also triggered 2/4 but the very next trip, this stopped working towards completion.
- Made sure that I did't confuse the issue by buying ore from a Barbarian city while having ore from the Empire in my cart.
- Tried the quest a couple of times making sure to trade in uniqe cities each time thinking maybe that would help, no joy past 2/4.

Do they have to be consecutive trips with no trades in between? Does dumping product for no profit 'break' the quest? After lpaying this for many hours already I'm going to put up some sugegstions too rather than make this post any longer than it already is.

Any help/feedback would be appreciated!

As much as I understand you are making one way transactions which is wrong. You need to buy goods in the Kingdom, go to the barbarians and sell them for a profit, then you need to buy stuff in the barbarian territory and sell when you're back at the Kingdom. Then the same applies to the Empire.

So you need 4 trades total:

Goods from Kingdom sold to barbarians
Goods from barbarians sold at the Kingdom
Goods from Kingdom sold to the Empire
Goods from the Empire sold at the Kingdom

Then you guys need to rewrite the directions, because the directions for the quest say it can be any combination of these. It's frustrating as all get out to keep repeating the same thing over and over, following the instructions in the game, and then have a developer tell us "Oh, well, no, that's not how it works." You guys are really hitting my spelling error/grammar error/instruction error OCD button hard. I'm already ignoring grammar and spelling errors, and now you're expecting me to ignore the fact that what the game tells me to do isn't what the game actually wants me to do?!

Another thing which might trip you up on this quest, I had a few ore from a mine and bought enough extra to bump the total to 50 on the way to barbarians, then when I sold there, it didn't register. Goods from quests seem not to count toward the 50; the 50 must be bought in lot from a kingdom vendor.

In fact this must be whole bunch of min. 50 pcs. bought and sold as whole.

This also eludes me. I did the 50 to empire, then 50 from empire (2/4). Then I did 50 to babarians and I was down to 1/4 again. Once I go trade with the barbarians the empire trades are cancelled. In general I like the game, but some of the quests are clearly bugged and the negative random events are too frustrating.

Hmmm. Are you running out of time, maybe? And I know it's a stupid question, but do you have the most recent patch? Because now that I know the secret of one trade of each kind I've been able to knock that one out with no problem multiple times now, even after the new patch which has broken a few other things.

I have the same problem as bclund,
I bought kingdom--> sold empire, 1/4
bought empire-->sold kingdom, 2/4
Bought kingdom-->sold barbarians, 1/4
bought barbarians-->sold kingdom, no register, ran out of time repeeating the attempt.

I had plenty of time left and on my latest try I did notice I got to 3/4, but then when I checked next time it was 1/4. I do not know if I have the latest patch, but I suspect Steam has updated automatically.

Old thread, but i am stuck with the same.
But to be honest i didn't know there was a difference between empire and kingdom .
Guess i have to read a bit more info about the cities.
I just used the game for relaxing and clicked away hoping to get some profit. (but i have 20tons and half a mill in cash, so i presume i did something right)

Same problem, also did not realise that I needed to do anything more than go back and forth with the barbarians. I didn't even realise until my second try at the quest that I needed four transactions -- the first time, I went back to the capital because I thought they were going to give me a previously-unmentioned next phase of the quest!

Still, I guess I'll be able to get it now. ..but, that quest text needs a SERIOUS re-write. It needs to mention the four transactions you need, AND clarify that the empire and kingdom are seperate entities. Mentioning that the barbarian cities are in the west, and where the empire cities are would also be a major plus.
