Need your help, Black screen on startup.
Guys I need your help.
when I run pivvot, the screen becomes black, and my displayer reports that it doesn't support such resolution.
does anyone have the same issue?

Same here. I've tried messing with some things but no dice.
It WAS running on my current resolution once before though

<<UPDATE>>
Last night I tried some things with my monitor resolution (including going down tp 640x480) and got "Frequency Out of Range" on every setting I tried. I even tried to go back to before my graphics card updated itself and nada.

Pivvot is broken - time to get the devs to fix it.

I will try to explain the only way that I find to fix this problem, but my english is not very good.
I had to connect a bigger tv (32") in my computer (my usual monitor is 18.5"). Then I changed the resolution and connect back the monitor.

Hey, really sorry about this! A couple of other people have had this issue and I can't seem to figure out what's causing it. Though it seems to often be related to monitor size, or to having two monitors. Hopefully you guys could get a refund if it never worked for you.

@FixpointProductions
Might I make a suggestion? How about an update that enables windowed mode or, failing that, letting us know how to get into a windowed mode if it already exists. I have had this game too long to qualify for a refund so that's not an option for me. Even if it was, I'd much rather have a working game again since I enjoyed Pivvot.

(Sorry for my bad english)
I found kind of a solution. I opened the game, pressed shift+"the button to the right of ctrl" to go back to the desktop. I waited a little, then i got back to pivvot, the screen was glitched, but i managed to change the resolution in the options menu. I used screenshots of the the game to orientate myself.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have our fix for the "Out of Range" black screen:.
  1. Start the game, and when it chimes press the down arrow three (3) times and press enter - this will put you in the otions menu.
  2. Press the down arrow eight (8) times and then right arrow once - this will change the option from fullscreen to windowed mode.
  3. Press down arrow once and press enter - this will take you back to the main menu
  4. Press down arrow once and press enter - this will exit the game.
  5. Start the game and everything should be visible now
  6. Now that you can see, choose the resolution you prefer and switch the display back to fullscreen and exit the game.
  7. Start the game and everything will look as good as it was intended to

I had to look at the option menus on YouTube to figure out where the options were while this crap's been going on since April. Thanks for the customer service Fixpoint Productions, in the future I'll be sure to support your developments like you support your customers. :tbpangry:

It kinda amazes me that nobody in this thread knew that you could press alt + Enter to make the game go to windowed mode. That works with many games, especially Unity.

The developer didn't even point that out...
