Common problems and solutions

Here are some of the common problems and how to solve them:

Any platform

• Incorrect gamepad button mappings:
  If buttons of your gamepad are reported incorrectly (for example, a trigger is marked as Start button when it isn't), you should open Steam Big Picture, and go to gamepad settings.
  
  There you will be able to map your gamepad buttons to a standard layout, that's what LRS uses.

Windows

• Game doesn't start, and you can see for a moment a steam window showing "Running msiexec"
  One of the prerequisites (.NET Framework 4) isn't installing properly. Please try downloading it manually from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24872
  
• Menu selector won't stop moving up/down:
  This is probably related to a non-standard gamepad connected (such as a wheel), reporting weird values on the Y-axis, or some kind of virtual gamepad device doing strange things. Also it could be a faulty gamepad, but it's less likely.
  
  • Go to the Windows control panel and check if there's something strange in the gaming devices panel.
    
  • Unplug any gamepads you're not using.
• Error on startup: "Could not find a display device that supports the HiDef profile":
  This means your graphics card is not DirectX 10 capable (nVidia cards below than 8000 series, ATI/AMD cards older than HD 2000 series, older Intel graphics cards...). You can try updating your drivers, but most probably you won't be able to play the game unless you change your graphics card.
  
• Black screen on startup, and crashes shortly after:
  Ensure you have an active sound card, with speakers/headphones connected. The game might be crashing when trying to load sounds if there's no soundcard present.

Linux

• Game freezes at random points / Heavy stuttering / Low FPS:
  If you have an nVidia graphics card, please update your drivers to a version higher than 330. Some people have been able to improve stability and smoothness of the game by doing this.
  Also, on nVidia driver settings, disabling application profiles and setting PowerMizer to Max Performance can help with the freezes.
  
• Complete system lockup at random points
  If you happen to have an Xbox 360 gamepad, it may be related with xpad drivers. Check http://steamcommunity.com/app/262690/discussions/1/558747922101393868/ for more details.

Mac

• Game freezes when pressing certain keys (Esc, for instance):
  You have to update Mono framework to a newer version ( you can get it here: http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html ), 3.2.6 and newer don't have this problem

Everytime I try to join a match it loads for a minute and then gives me the error message saying "Couldnt join the session. Cant contact the host." Is it me ? This doesnt happen in any of my other games.

It might be a port issue. We're using Steam P2P Networking, and they require some ports to be open to work properly. Check https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711 for a list of the required ports (specially the ones on the P2P Networking section)

Should I use port forwarding or port triggering? I tried port forwarding but it still doesnt let me join games.... Maybe I am doing it wrong?

I personally use port triggering so it can work for different computers, but I can't tell if that will work for you

Doesnt even load for the minute on my side, goes straight to cant contact host. I bought a bunch of keys, and now have a bunch of very annoyed friends.
Seriously, can this guy even code? The controller button icons all over the place on a PC game says no. At least throw in an option to join direct by IP so we can use hamachi to fix your broken port triggering.

I just downloaded this game. I have the newest iOS (Sierra). I sent my three friends the game. I downloaded mono and restarted my laptop. The game wouldn't open.

Any suggestions? I'd really like to play this with my friends. If I can't play I feel like it was a waste of my money...

Tried the game on windowed mode and now I can only see a white screen. Uninstalled and reinstalled but it's still a white screen.
