you could play up to 4 players on one computer. This works with keyboard, xbox controller, etc.
If you wanted to, you could play with 3 other ppl on one keyboard, but i dont know how they would fit.

totally, 2 players is great, me and my bro play all the time!


EDIT: BUT MAKE SURE TO FILL THE EMPTY SLOTS WITH BOTS! it makes the action more frenetic.

Yes, but if you plug a gamepad into any of your USB ports, you can play with more than one person.

It's also worth noting that if you dig around in settings, you can have multiple players on the keyboard. This is disabled by default, though, since there's quite a few keyboards out there that have problems with a bunch of keys being pushed at the same time; but if your keyboard has anti-ghosting or N-key rollover then you'll be good to go.

You can also apparently have a player on the mouse. It's not that bad, actually; it works excellent with traps and Kourok's attacks, although monster/hero movement takes a second to get used to.

I have plaed with three players on keyboards (I steam streamed the game onto another laptop, as its keyboard works exactly the same, just to spread it out a bit) and one player on mouse. It worked just fine. Well, the stream had small lag, but that was my bad internet.

Some gamepads input with the keyboard, or can be set to with software (like the ps3 controller), and may work better that way.
