On a side note, I think once the Steam Box launches, local co-op titles like Crawl should see a resurgence (or emergence) on the PC.
I would have loved Towerfall a lot more if I wasn't missing out on the 50 local MP only maps ( a huge chunk of the game's content). It's cool to add local MP, but don't make it the -only- way to play the game with friends.
I'm super excited to get to play the game and it looks awesome, but nowadays if I get interested in a game and see "Local Multiplayer" on the steam page my interest sinks a little. I think it's a testament to how well the trailers are done and the quality of the game so far that I haven't lost interest in it because there's no online yet, as other titles that have looked like they might be fun with friends have been completely dropped and forgotten about because of the lack of online.
I'd really hate for this game to become one that gets buried in my steam library and forgotten about because I can't play with my friends or random people online. It seems far too cool an experience to suffer that.
