Help! Gamepad only does 8 direction movement.

So I just bought a two pack of gamepads for playing this game with my friends, but with my trial run with them I realised that they control no more smoothly than a keyboard, despite having a joystick. Anyone know if there's a way to restore full movement to my gamepads?

i dont know, i rarely use pc controllers so i dont know that much but if you have a ps4 i know you can plug in the controller with the charging cable and it works on your pc with no programs. that thing has more than 8

Some controllers with analog sticks are actually only 8 direction controllers. I have a cheap knockoff xbox360 controller that's like that. At least if both your controllers have the same 8 direction thing, it'll make it'll still be fair playing against each other :)

It seems my controllers only fully work when both of them are plugged in at a time, and even more strange is that if any one controller is unplugged during play, both of them stop working completely.

i dont know if thats the controller or the game, but thats just strange.

Folks who had issues with controllers did you try the game with the new minor controller update ? The update log says there have been some fixes related to controllers. So for example maybe your problem got fixed spudcosmic with your dual controllers. And what about the 8 directions on xbox knockoffs ? Does it stay that way ? I'm interested in experiences from controller users !
