Crawl
What is maximum floor level in dungeon?
And what happens when you get there? Only boss battle until win or 3 looses?

There is none. Simple as that.

This brings up a significant issue. Combining a number of health recovery items can make a snowballing hero nearly impossible to bring down, even with maxed out monsters.

If he can't be killed, and he won't face the boss, the game goes on forever.

How do you shut down a player with a 20 in all stats, that has all the items?

Monster combo that ♥♥♥♥♥. There is granma who can polymorph hero into frog. Its 2 sec kill then.

Nice in theory but sketchy in application, when monsters are exploding into body parts before they can attack twice or wind up a special attack.

I am thinking something much more dangerous should be lurking in the deeper depths.

An example: A "SUPER Pentagram" that calls forth a monster at several times it's base strength, with vastly increased HP, damage and speed. These Super Monsters would be cloaked in a violent aura.

Yeah, and how do you kill that if you are not overpowered floor 50 hero?

It's local only, just punch the guy until he's willing to go fight the boss. Getting overpowered so there's no way you can lose is not fun for other players. You're playing with your friends, and if they can't understand that the game has to be fun for everyone involved, I don't know why you're even playing with them.

You don't, of course. The monster kills the hero and becomes the hero. As long as it occurs occasionally, it shouldn't be too bad an issue.

When you die not coz of someone being overpowered and not more skillful\lucky - that is problem for sure. Making an overpowered hero takes a lot of time, so thats not really a problem.

The think is, even if the hero becomes level 90 or whatever (which, as stated above probably shouldn't happen if you're friends aren't being tool bags) as long as someone's getting licks in they'll go down eventually. That'll drop a pile of XP for whoever drops him, leveling them up as well. At that point, though, everyone should be close to there and everyone's monsters should be maxed out so the real deciding factor is going to be shop stuff, which they'll have less of if the game is that one sided because you primarily get gold by damagin the hero.

This isn't a problem. I've sort-of had this happen to me once with a bleed-relying build, but they will a. either fight the boss if they are sensible, or b. you will force them to fight the boss because otherwise, they're an idiot. And it is really, really quite rare for a hero to get to that position, unless everyone else in the game is simply worse than that player. It isn't coincidence or anything else.

Yeah, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ them up for good 66% of the time. You ever encountered minibosses in any game ever?

Holy crap. You're all jerks to one another.

Take it down a notch, nobody is taking your humanity right now except you.

This game seems to have a good balance between skill and luck. A less skilled player will get lucky and kill a more skilled player sometimes, with a really strong trap or a Statue monster. It happens less often as the heroes get more powerful.

So, it doesn't happen - but if it DOES?

What is down on floor 30? 40? 50? When the game has gone on for 2 hours and the hero has been the same guy for half the game and he just keeps going down, is there something especially wrong with having a safeguard in place?

Thanks for breeding politeness. Actually seriously, no sarcasm. I'm sorry for our argument in the other thread.

People in past patches have gotten to floor 200 before giving up, there's screenshots of it I believe on the art page. Nothing out of the ordinary.

If you play with friends who purposely stall the game when their human is decked out (I've never seen it happen, personally) then you need new friends. This is essentially a non-issue. ♥♥♥♥ friends.
