So, what's the Ghost Girl do?
You can even craft one in your house...

I've only encountered one in the house after I crafted it by accident. Two stools make a ghost? Sure, why not! It seemed to me like it behaved similar to an angry spirit, only since I was in the house it couldn't really hurt me?

I could be remembering wrong. I was thinking it flew into me but maybe I walked into it instead? I was standing pretty close when I made it.

I just ran into a signpost that might offer a clue. It said "Ghost children can be summoned from lost belongings. Then you can rescue them." Maybe try throwing a parent at one?

One thing I did that worked was to throw the ghost kid into the mayors square. It counted as a rescued kid. Cannot for the life of me figure out what to do with the one in the house though. No special reward for saving more than the max number of kids(just 2x number of kids worth of items I think), stage tries to end after the max reaches even if there are more kids nearby.

For the ghost kids that you can craft at the house, bring them to the shrine roon will make them "solid" (They don't disappear like other spirits, you can't run into them and they can't leave that room)

If you make too many it could pose problems if you respawn there or have enough charms....

So far I've made 4 ghosts and have two cats, to think they all came from one single large pot...

It's possible to score over the required amount of kids by using the ghost children. Just carry in one or more ghost children at the same as 1 or more regular kids, then put them all down at once. I managed to get 21 copper in a go like this.

The stool recipe does not seem to work for me. I just get pots. What am I missing?

I'm not sure. Maybe you have too many of the same item touching each other? I've had a few times where trying to craft something wouldn't work if there were too many of the same things touching. There were more spirits and other things than actually needed for the recipe all touching each other, and until I removed the extras the potion just wouldn't craft. I also tried making Fearsome stew but because there were two or more Angry spirits touching nothing happened. I tried it on one that was sitting apart, not touching any others of the same type and it worked fine.

It requires one large and small pile of of fragments to make the stool. Two of the same size ones just makes another pot.
