Stuttering
So I got the game on GOG a while ago and I play it in bursts;

It was working fine until late in Too Fast For Most, where my computer started stuttering right about the laser puzzle in that level. The issue carried over to Going Astray and it seems like 3 launches out of 4 it stutters my PC to death now.

Is there any obvious cause or solution to this, or is it just my aging PC? Other games don't seem to do it, nearly as often.

My hard drive is slowly failing and the PC must be more than 7 years now, so I'm assuming it's not the game's fault, but maybe you have any advice.

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately we never experienced this, but if you want you can send me a log (friedrich at ratking dot de): https://steamcommunity.com/app/293660/discussions/0/2264691750491020820/#c3606765810638029689

But yeah, sounds like a hardware problem.

The game never generated any log files at any time, strangely. Is there an alternative location for those on Windows? The darndest thing is that this doesn't happen with other games (Titanfall 2 to name one), but with TRI it makes the system process spike up CPU lately.

Strange enough it seems the location of the log changed - I don't exactly know why. In any case, try to look for the log inside the game's "tri_Data" folder (you have to right-click the game and choose Manage -> Browse local files).

Oh my goddess, I finally figured it out - It's the Vsync.
I chronically disable it in any game I play, and for some reason having VSync off and no frame limiting caused the GPU usage to skyrocket and stutter the computer.

Interesting, thanks for letting me know.
