Are all dinos on all the maps?

Was doing the first map "Delapheus Hills", hunting Stegosaur and Ankylosaurus. Got killed by a Ceratosaurus. So can a Trex spawn in the first map as well or will he show up on maps where I can get a license to shoot Ceratosaurus?
I remember certain dinos would spawn when you only selected a more dangerous one in the original games.
And do you get any kind of penalty for shooting a dino without the license? Or just no points/trophy?

Not certain about Trex spawning on maps where you can't get a license but Ceratosaurus can spawn on any map. There is no penalty for shooting a non-lincensed dino except for you cannot take it as a trophy.

yea ive hunted on the first four maps and have yet to see a trex. always see the Ceratosaurus though. first time i seen one he ran right to me and the last 2 bullets i had in my rifle i panickly shot him when he was very close and it downed him lol. have yet to have that luck, i probably hit his heart though on that first kill.

T-rex will ONLY appear in the last two maps. Unlike the older games, he can spawn even when you aren't licensed for him. Similarly, you can also see him from well over 500m away.

Alright, thanks guys.
First time I played, I killed a stegosaurus and saw something red-ish running off in the distance, but couldn't make out what it was. Second time, I killed an Ankylosaurus, checked the device and the sight-meter went full, turned around to see what saw me and then he got me. :P
