Easiest to do if you have a side profile of his head.

Use the decoy to call him to you. Once you see him, stay in the open so you have a clear shot, but be still so he has to search for you. One shot to the eye. If he does spot you, it's actually a perfect time to take the shot, since he'll pause to roar at you before charging.

Dont need to use Decoy wounding a Dino or just firing a round will make him come running.
Here's how I hunt rexes.

1-I mainly hunt on Banshee Dusk with the giant rocks. Make sure you get on one before doing the rest of these steps, as rex cant get you when on these.
2-(Completely ignore this if you got a mutant) once on the rock use decoy to attempt to call it in (there are prime rex locations on the map so make sure ur near those)
3-Once you see him running towards you aim for the eye with the nsiper rifle (rex's only weakspot, yes organs show on x-ray but they dont do extra damage)
4-Profit

You could kill a dino to lure the T. rex to you. Distance is important though, if T. rex is too far away he won't pick up the dead dino's scent, too close and he will come running to where you shot your gun (unless you use crossbow, snipers are very loud). It doesn't need to be a licensed dino to lure T. rex (or any carnivore), e.g. a dead Gallimimus will still attract carnivore. When he is eating you have ample time to aim for his eyes.

I have killed them with crossbow, pistol, rifle and sniper rifle at 350 yards. Wait for the shot. Antisipate the movement.

To increase the challenge, turn off your radar, do it the old fashioned way, listen for roars, and follow footprints.

where exactly are these locations on basmachee dusk?

on the Basmachee Rocks map...
- stand over the natural rock bridge between two cliffs
- you get a great shot without fearing attracted ceratosaurs
- they wont normally climb but rather roam the close area
or run about - still you can shoot down 1 T-Rex and bag
2 ceratoausrs at the same time! ^_^ now that's a bonus!!!

I was on delapheus hills (fog) sitting on top of a rock, a Trex came walking in my direction, I shot it between the eyes with my rifle and it died instantly

And that location is also one of the tips for succesful T-rex hunting. You are guaranteed of always finding a T-rex near that location! It's in the northern tip of the island at all times. In fact, most of the time it's sleeping (while standing up!), so really all you need to do is sneak up on it, and shoot it in the eyes. Instant trophy.
In my recent experience of tracking the T-Rex in observer mode, if you allow enough time to pass, he'll find you rather than the other way around. The beast will literally go out of it's way to pretty much play ring around the rosie around a giant rock to get to you even though you're "undetectable" in observer mode. The T-Rex is pretty much constantly hunting you at all times on the map.

That's never been my experience. How long did you wait before he started coming after you?
