No idea about opting for beta through the Properties, tho.
EDIT: The Playtest's size is about 1.13 GB, but haven't had the time to try it yet.
As for changes/improvements:
- When you're loaded into a map and open Escape menu, you can see following on the right side:
· Time spent
· (distance) Travelled
· Trophies confirmed
· Score earned
· Gems earned
also the map name you're currently on. The only map I could play was Delapheus Hills.
Weapons, equipment appear the same. Similarly with graphics.
In-game remapper now lets you actually assign actions to semicolon (which I always use to Crouch) and possibly other keys.
Some QoL additions:
- Downed dinosaurs appear as an X on your M.I.S.T's radar.
- Binoculars now feature a permanent X-ray functionality, after "scanning" a dinosaur for a few seconds, their vitals show up in Binocs-view.
This also causes vital points of the scanned dinosaurs to be highlighted (each by colour) when you hold down your breath, while aiming your gun at them.
Also on the Hunt Preparation screen, there's a button to switch between 3 modes:
Lethal, Non-Lethal and Observer mode, returning from Reborn.
My personal and only, probably unnecessary gripe is: you can never start a hunt.
Not unless you "Hold down" the button, instead of just clicking it, that is.
I dunno what the tweet mentioned on previous pages here said, and I know it's probably too early to say, but from this Playtest alone it looks more like a re-release, than a remaster.
That's all I can say about it on my part, since I didn't play Reborn a lot. But, save being eaten by mutated dinos when I'm about to land a shot, I like it.
