I've had this in my library for years and played it for the first time today.

I didn't kickstart it so I'm not as salty as many reviewers. Yes the default controls are hideous, but they can be changed.

However, what can't be changed is that you need to go through a menu process to open doors.

Every door. Every single time. You can't just click on a door and it opens. No. You click on a door, pop up a menu and then have to click 'open door'. It's not just opening doors. You have to go through this process for every action because the UI is execrable.

Imagine an Elder Scrolls game where everything you did took an extra unnecessary 10-20 seconds. No one's got time for that.

It's a shame because in the five minutes I spent with the game before deciding I wasn't going to waste my life in menus for opening doors. I did see a couple of interesting ideas that might have been worth using in better games.
