My Dwarf has lost his voice.

For singing. To be honest, I haven't been repairing or building the Durin's lamps to get rid of shadows. Until now, as I entered the Desolation. I repaired the first one, sang to it, and the Shadow well was plugged. Then at the second one, repaired it, but while he still goes through the motions, while the notes hover over his head, not a sound comes out. I waited about 3 times as long as the first time, then ran out. Tried again, nothing.

So I went on to dig the next tunnel into Orcville, built a new lamp next to the one in there, and again, a lot of swaying, the notes overhead, but no voice. And apparently, even after minutes go by, without the voice the shadow won't leave.

I tried exiting the game and going back. Nothing. I tried starting a new game with the same character, but still nothing. And even though I haven't been bothering with them, I feel in a place called 'The Desolation', maybe I should now.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I had this issue as well, Fixed it by going further into the story and after a conversation with a npc The Dragon the problem was gone.

Hey Aeval. I don't know what I did, but it's back now. But I now have a different problem. I'm in the final stages, fighting the dragons minions, and they just won't stop. Killed two of the dragon offspring, which I thought caused her to fly up and away. But the orcs just keep coming, and she keeps trash talking. I don't know how much more I can take. Already used up about 250 metal for repairs. I'm into the 3rd day/night cycle. I likely screwed up by going all the way back to base to sleep, eat, and drink the 1st night, but since then it's been no sleep and Lembas bread. Uggghhhhh.
