But will say, yes, I got my free 'access' as well in the mean time :D
Epic makes the Unreal engine, which is one of if not the most used graphic engine, with 16% overall coverage and majority on AAA titles - which are the ones that actually end up paying for the engine. And Fortnite. Fortnite will die, sure, which will reduce Epic's income, but as far as companies likely to die, they're pretty damn low on the list. Valve is probably on the bottom of that list though.
What I am surprised at is their lack of support for their storefront. Can't buy games as gifts, miserable support for communication with the devs (no announcements, no comments, nothing). If they didn't invest as much into game developers as they do, I'd wonder if they were money laundering or something, but no, they are investing in everything but the storefront. Weird.
Also, perhaps you haven't heard the latest class-action vs. valve and its functional monopoly on game distribution? Getting serious attention from the courts when it came to light valve is price fixing in internal emails and client contracts. Best look that up as well before you post next.
Care to guess what company this is? Much, much bigger than valve\steam...
Just click the Add a Game button at the bottom left corner of steam and choose the game?
If I made a fresh account I still can get the free games or need some rights with buying like on Steam? Also is this Free to keep forever?
I tried to avoid EGS at all cost so far, but as I recently found TLOTR:RoM and Whislisted this Free offer on EGS is very tempting for sure.
First off, EGS is a store, just like Steam. I find it's useful to not keep all the eggs in one basket, so to speak, and EGS is arguably more agreeable than Ubisoft, and especially whatever EA calls their current offering. However, I favor steam quite heavily in general.
Technically EGS is just fine; they are fairly straightforward and their technical solutions are quite good.
EGS' interface is very basic in comparison with steam, for better and worse. The free games are a straightforward deal with no strings attached; you get them to keep and have no requirement other than having an account (without which you couldn't download it anyway).
The devs already said F you to Steam players by making them wait a year anyyay.... so why you care so much???
