Siege / Raids When ?
Playing in an online campaign with a couple of friends. We arrived at the forge in the Elven area. so have goblin man now which are a little tougher.

Logging on earlier, and being the first one within our little group, our base got siege basically within a minute or two of loading. The attackers were now tougher but I managed to fight them off, but they did destroy a few walls/doors, book case and some stairs in the mean time.

It got me wondering, How does it work out WHEN to do these sieges, it seems to be most of the time we log in after a few hours break. Also is there a distance required. e.g. if I wonder off and don't build any new bases, can my current base still be siege which means if so I wouldn't get back in time due to the distance.

Any insight on this and how they work would be welcomed. I'm not after any sort of cheating way to stop the spawning, e.g. hiding hearths in walls, not building windows and doors etc. I like to play as intended.

Raids occur when you are not at a base, sieges are raids at your base. Raids target a player (players?), sieges target the main hearth for the base. Both attacks will divert if other targets present themselves.

Noise is the main factor in raids/sieges. Mining makes noise, including removing walls with a pick axe. Building walls, crafting machines, or similar makes noise. Running makes noise. Once you build up enough noise, you get a raid or siege. This is a short buffer after a raid/siege where noise is OK but it doesn't last long.

Ahh Interesting. I recently noticed bottom right a noise sort of indicator when I do mining, but not seen any sort of meter reading on how close I am for a chance to be attacked. As a small group of players we tend to stick together. strength in numbers sort of thing. I'll have to keep an eye more on the noise indicator. Thanks for the response.
