Honestly, that's about the best way to do it without driving yourself (completely) crazy. At least as it applies to laying them out for decorative purposes, or trying to create wall shelving for storage, etc.
If I'm *really* trying to get something to line up, I put it to the highest point then jump, and start Shift+scroll down to pull it closer so the height of my jump is roughly where I want it to be.. then with that reference point. I use another platform to get myself up there and try to get as precise as I can, remove the others and build off that.
It's clunky to say the least, the scroll adjustments should definitely be a smooth incremental change instead of what we've got.. the function is clearly there, since we can do it by moving our character, that method is just frustratingly imprecise.
Orc camps are too generic - you've seen one, you've seen them all.
The game could be much, much more. But overall, I have like it.
the look of the halls is mostly very good and i like the vibe
some "cells" require some polishing
For the gameplay i agree on:
Aiming might be better especially with pickaxes when there is a little "bit" floating in the air
Maybe add an optional crosshair?
Very often items just moving thru the floor and cant be "sucked" up - which means sooner or later i have flooded the map with items i cant pick up
especially on elevated platforms
How about removing or relocating them after some time or on logout?
Stone is something that piles up very quick how about something to do with all of those megatons of stone
stone tip arrows? concrete? putting them in a grinder for traces of metals?
When i dig a small hole while sitting on top of ressources i cant jump into this hole without my dwarf instantly climbing up
make ledgegrabbing optional?
the building part could be optimised im often stuck fiddling the parts together
sometimes its the camera postion (when i have a second floor or roof placed) sometimes i fiddle with the snapping which could be better
add a snapping option, like valheim has? review the options for camera on build mode?
how about a recycling option for old equipment? get some ressources back?
