Build a campfire by a map stone, deconstruct the map stone and then the campfire, walk to the next map stone, and repeat.

I suppose this might be driven by difficulty settings, but I don't think it is.
There are dedicated servers with grand warehouses and armouries (you're gonna have to find them yourself, search engines are your friend) where you can stock up on stuff before going on campaign or sandbox runs. I'm not really a fan of stocking up like this, BUT, there's one exception for this game.
Decking yourself with about 50-60 black diamonds before a sandbox/campaign run will just reasonably increase your QoL. But that's just me. Other than that I love grinding myself up. But those 50 black diamonds really made a difference between chore and entertainment. A game should be entertainment.
