Other than the hordes im not having a problem.
Are you talking about the orc camps you find? You can adjust combat settings to make those easier, but can't reduce them.
Raids occur when you are not at a base, and sieges are raids that occur at your base. You can't turn hordes off, but you can reduce the frequency and strength of them. Raids and sieges are primarily triggered by noise. For raids, you get a warning before them. Try to get somewhere somewhat defensible. For sieges, make sure your base has defenses - walls and doors.
The same goes for base raids as well. For base defense, do not count on a single row of walls to prevent their entry, and if you just want to eliminate them entirely, mostly anyway, just put down a poop ton of hearths out away from your main hearth. You can pretty much eliminate raids if you do it right.
you can greatly turn the frequency down, you can see when they are about to trigger
at the worst it takes you 30 seconds to prepare and then wait out the horde for 1-2 minutes
