Stone Hearth Destroyed by Orcs

Stone Hearth Destroyed by Orcs before I could build bedroll. Very early in game, no recipe for hearth available. When I say destroyed, I mean they erased it. Nothing to rebuild.

This has left me without the ability to craft essential items like the Bedroll, which means I have no way to recover health other than dying repeatedly.

This is all kinds of fun. Words fail me.

Steps I Have Taken:

Verified the integrity of game files.
Restarted the game and my PC.
Checked for and installed any available updates.
Explored the area for alternative hearths and crafting stations.

People that tell me to git gud risk being mocked. If you have anything useful to contribute, by all means. Otherwise it appears I will need to start over - or do something that is actually fun instead.

if you wander moria for the first time the game can be cruel at some point, normally you can pickup the material from a destroyed hearth - but there are some cases where material might fall thru the floor.
i think restarting the was a good choice in this case

or you can check up your save files - the game puts ".bak" files which can be used to restore an older savegame - saves a lot of frustation in some cases

M.Red is a memorable & worthy member of the Empyrion community. The RtM community can't be too terrible if M.Red is in it.

I did restart & this time the game skipped orcs & went directly to trolls. Maybe you're right...

hearths are unlocked as you build the previous one, except for the tide one from the christmas dlc

always build the new stations and what not as some recipes are not unlocked til you do

Its very interesting that you can softlock the game like this

you should be able to unlock it by just building the campfire - which unlocks the small fireplace - and the small one should unlock the large fireplace

the coal it needs should be around the corner (if you are at the oris outpost)

something to know, you can expand the base area with more hearths, they just need to overlap. a good way to know if you did it right is to try cooking something on the new one as it will pull from the chests inside that "base"

orc raids also only go for the main hearth and not ones that are expanding the base
