do we loose all the stuff we have spared in the chest???

sorry for the mistake i am french
one thing i don't understand is i spare plenty of stuff (stone iron skin etc )in a chest (near where you have your bed a furnace etc.i call this place area 1
then i go on in the adventure further away therefore i am in an other area quite far away
Do i loose all the stuff i have spared in area 1 ??????because thi s stuf iin the chest is far away???
please help if it is like that i don't see the need in having chest ???
what do i have misunderstood??
or better what do i have to do to recover the stuff i have spared in a distant area??????

Items in the game do not disappear. You can throw a piece of stone on the road and that piece of stone will lie there until the end of the game.

You can go back at any time to get it and eventually you’ll get fast travel to go back instantly.

OP, if you are asking if you lost your stuff because you set up a new hearth and can't access your chest from there... Chests are only accessible inside the hearth's area. If you have one base at the start and one in the Elven Quarter, you can't access chests from the start area while in the Elven Quarter. That stuff is not lost, you'll just have to go and get it.

However, I've heard that if hearth areas overlap, chests from one hearth are accessible from another, which is great news for larger bases.

Seek out "blackstones" dropped by orcs in the red lower mines section after the elven quarter. Can build fast travel points with them
