Why so many good reviews?

I tried it in Epic about half a year age or so. It is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mass of unfriendly mechanics, boring tunnels, meaningless and clanky fights. This game is the worst sandbox I have ever played. Even boring, clanky and outdated Smalland is better than this. Or do people grade the Game like Book? Like good setting, good story? And forget that the game should be the game? As a game it gets "D" at best.

Best part of these threads are the people who come in and act like a mild criticism thread will sway whether they continue to play a game they already bought. Truly a "stop criticizing this game that I want to like. Stop not liking it!" moment 😂

That's ... interesting.

A game that is divisive but very well liked by some and hated by others are far more likely to get low scores than one that appeals to a vast majority, even if they don't like it all that much. But, and here's the important thing: That is the correct review score. Review scores *ON STEAM* are not 'how good is the game on a scale from 1-100', but, 'how likely are you to like it'. If everyone leaves a honest review on the basis you are supposed to, the score is fit for purpose.

If people like the game because of the story, that's fine. Odds are, those who are looking at this game are interested in it because of the story; it will be a relevant reason for them.

There were a lot of positive reviews. People began to buy, but it turned out that all those reviews were not even near the reality. Bad reviews began to appear. But not enough to tell people that the game is not that good as people tell tastes are differ. Nowadays people eat whatever they are given, and the industry stuck in all those unpolished and clunky games. They say: "we will buy your game, we liked that model of chair, not everything is good, but next time you will make a better game - we are sure!" . I've been reading through this thread. Frankly, your childish responses to level-headed comments have convinced me to give the game a try while it's on sale.

EDIT: Having looked again at the store page, I've noticed that it's no longer in Early Access. Weighing that with the level-headed negative reviews, I'm going to hold off on buying this game for now. Maybe the symptoms of it being rushed to release will get fixed.

I understand your question @OP. Ignore the trolls and whiny fanboys that take offense that you would even be baffled by the fact there are a lot of good reviews. I personally could not endure the game for more than, what, an hour i think? Thank God I got it on Epic to try out for free, I might have wasted money at some point out of curiosity.

I've asked myself the same question about the reviews here on steam about this game and others too. I will be honest though, as for the responses you got, did you expect anything different?

Just because *you* don't like it doesn't mean it's not a good game. If you didn't like it WTF do you care what rating it has from others? Move on to something you like better and stop trying to degrade others playing a game they enjoy.

You can simply say "I don't like this game" it could be that it's just not your game and that's ok.. but that does not mean that others can't like it.

I don't think others are wrong to enjoy it at all. LOL and I wouldn't typically post what I don't like about a game without expecting the angry fans mob to come out of the woodwork which is why I pointed that out when i said "did you expect anything different?" But to each his own.
