Future dev plans?
Have the developers said anything about remaining plans/updates? All I've seen was about the Steam launch update.

Can we expect anything more than bugfixes?

I'd rather see new areas added to Moria complete with new bosses and enemies rather than go to a whole new location.

I would rather see them do some major updates to the UI, open it up to mods and a dedicated server I can run before I see a new map. Fix what you have before you just create a bigger mess.

I hope they continue to update this game. I don't personally think it is as bad as some say. I think they were just expecting something different than what was delivered. I came in with no expectations and am enjoying it all the more.

As for updates to Return to Moria I'd like to see these.

- Toggle run option
- More defined maps
- Fix the loading walls
- Fix the crashes
- Better build snapping
- Better combat and remove auto targeting closes enemy. For some reason, with lock-on target not turned on, my dwarf attacks enemies behind me and to the side while facing forward at an enemy. This is terrible.
- Wouldn't mind a group function like DRG does.
- Better random map generations.
- New areas added.
- RNG events like finding a spiders nest and hacking dwarves and other Middle Earth races out of cocoons. If they add NPC's these could be some of them. Other events could be another Balrog returns (raid?), maybe finding Gollum's home, and other iconic things from The Silmarillian, The Hobbit and LotR.
- NPC's you can find, as mentioned above, that can populate your dwarf base. Maybe allow you to pick what function they do and arm them with weapons and armor. Maybe allow non-groups to pick one to follow you. You can have a gatherer follow you till you tell them to gather and than they stop following you and gather in a certain radius of where you dropped them off. Or arm some and make them guard from attacks or follow you as a sidekick.

i would like to point out that they were simply considering it as future dlc... not the next task on their list. something they would like to do.

from what i understand they are limited as to how much they can pull from the lore for this game due to the license they have...probably very few specific references outside of things in the Fourth Age

iirc they have said in the past they are hoping to add the endless stairs that lead up to Durin's tower at the peak of the mountain where the Balrog's corpse is/was

there is a lot they still wanna do... there was talk of a pack animal possible... that would be helpful too

Oh heck yeah, I'd love a pack animal, especially if it could function like the combat pack animals from the Dungeon Siege series.

Didn't think of that. Oh well, still appreciate the few Fellowship cookies they threw in.
Thanks.

Maybe expanding the game would include Home mountains for each different type of regional dwarf to start at the beginning of the game, Then you have the journey to Moria... Which could be a game of its own almost, hehe. Then you get t o Moria and start in like the current game does. I like other peoples ideas of populating camps after developing them enough to do so. Maybe you send Ravens home for NPC reinforcements on developed camps you make as you descend deeper into Moria. Maybe Moria Mountain gets huge, endless depths as more people play the game in the future. But hey I am just excited because of how much fun the first few hours have been. I think Its awesome, and just do more of what you have already done, which is make people happy with a decent game. Maybe you could visit the other dwarves mountains and make trade routes Over, and underland. I dunno , Games pretty great how it is. It tastes right, so just bake some more cakes of this flavor, and watch the money pour in :summerbucket2023:

A toggle run option is something I expect from modern games. Along with scalable UI/fonts.

There is a toggle sprint option in the game, until your stamina runs out... However what I would like is "auto move" so I don't have to hold down the W key all day. after a few hours of running back and forth several squares it starts to ache.

i do wish that post game we could use our gold to hire dwarves to come live and work in the areas we rebuild
Post game spoilers:

In the final cut scene, Gimili's turns his company over to you. His company is all the dwarves you see in the opening cut scene. So they already work for you at the end of the game.
If you pop out the west gate (the first gate you found way back at the beginning of the game), you can meet one of them.
But it would be nice if they would enter Moria as NPCs.

I agree. I'm just afraid the game was not the financial success needed to invest in the new code required to pull it off. I'd love to see Moria come alive again, and maybe, just maybe, they dig a little too deep (again).
