If it's Windows 10, the pop up would have had two check boxes you could select, one for Public, one for Private. If it's Windows 11, it would have just been a single Yes/No question. Did it maybe git lost in the opening of the game? That happens a lot.
If not, try manually allowing it through the firewall. There are better guides for doing this online than I can write at the moment (amusingly, I'm commenting from a linux machine at the moment). Maybe that will help?
We managed to get it working, he kept restarting his xbox instead of closing the game (the game stays open if you just do that apparently).
