Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game. it's just lacking many PC features you find in almost any PC game. Even early access titles, which this game is not. It's a fully released game.
What about Deep Rock Galactic?
Dedicated servers aren't what makes a co-op game co-op, and aren't necessary for a co-op game, nice as the option is.
Not a new game. Been out well over a year and a year ago they said they were looking at dedicated support.
I believe that was a lie and they can't make this a dedicated server title. I think after a year plus of waiting it's time to give up watching and waiting for this game to create dedicated server support.
Looks like NO SALE.
If you want a dedicated server than you can host one for most games through websites like Nitrado for example.
I think the main idea that people want added is for the players to be able to run their own dedicated servers using a dedicated version of the game. I think that for longevity, a dedicated server solution that can be player run is always beneficial.
On the other, a number of the core game concepts would have to be reconsidered for that kind of a game setup. Due to the shared progression of the game, I would imagine the best approach to doing something like this would almost require making a third game mode, thus making them Campaign, Sandbox, and Dedicated.
Those are different games and different game genres. In a game like this where base building is essential the continuity of gameplay is essential and if you can't continue to play whenever then it breaks the environment. A game like this needs an always on available connection so that the players that are together on this, can have continuity whenever they want to connect to play.
Hard Pass if it doesnt have that dedicated platform.
No it doesn't, it's not necessary for this kind of game (or this game in particular) and the way progression (and raids) work wouldn't gel well with an always online server.
You can always play with your character, no matter what world you're playing on, and can progress in multiple worlds at the same time. Each character's inventory even comes with them between worlds.
Good for you, enjoy not playing the game.
