Mobs spawning in my base
Is anyone else finding that bases that we create ourselves (not repaired) are spawning mobs within them still? Trying to create a base around the great forge of Narvi and don't want it to have mobs spawning within it!

im having this same issue. Full coverage of hearths, lights everywhere, still getting wolves spawning in base

I have the same issue, and it's really annoying.
I often find myself being attacked by wolves when I return to my base using the fast travel.
Should have it so the hearth would block spawns.

I have that as well. Super annoying. I wonder if there are any areas you can build that don't have the snackrats/patrol spawns? Library, maybe?

Weird. I lit up everything inside and walled up the side entrances and the front with one door apiece. No critters have spawned inside.

I initially built those because some stupid bear came wandering in and stomped on a few things that were in its way.

Those bears can creep up unexpected :P

you probably didn't happen to build on top of a spawn point
Great Forge of Narvi happens to have a timed spawner in its boundaries, any of which ignore hearths. Unless you absolutely must have a large build (which you honestly probably don't at that stage of the game), the outpost in Mines of Moria one room over is superior.
Got our base in the elven quarter, no goblins spawning in so far.. but.. the bear... the fuggin...fuggin... bear... spawns in every now and then just to wander around and stomping everything wich is making the base nice style-wise into the void just...because :jfrown: it's not needed in a way you get the feeling DEVs just wanted to be annoying, like: :jgrumpy:

I have no problems with the spawns per say but the bears ability to destroy (playermade) things just through wandering. Who the hell came up with that idea basically called for serious spanking.. :sh3angry:

If you build in the Elven Forge, Make sure to place down overlapping hearths to expand the build area to cover the entire room. Then build walls with doors at each of the 3 entrances and make sure not to leave the doors open when you go out adventuring.

That seems to have stopped about 99% of the animal spawns in that room for me. I do still occasionally get a group of wolves spawning in it but that might just be because I haven't built something on top of that specific spawner yet (I think its in one of the back corners). But that only seems to spawn about every 10 nights or so.

The bear, elk, other wolves, and the eventual goblin raids all spawn outside & have to deal with the walls (hence the reason to keep the door closed).

EDIT: And yes if you overlap the Hearths they all will share the same "pull from box" function even if its across the room. So it gets treated as one massive base area.

I've heard that putting down your own floors instead of just repairing existing ones will help with the spawning. Maybe try that?

That's exactly what we did.. Might help someone, but not in our case sadly :jsad:

I built my base at the first area of Mines of Moria. I have the entire thing enclosed in roofs. since half of the ground is water i didnt put down flooring but I made a bridgeway. The only area that has dedicated flooring is my living area. Wildlife seems to have ceased invading also I haven't had any goblins dropping from the sky since finishing the base.

On a side note. the empty rooftop gaps are covered in floor tiles so maybe this counts as laying flooring.
