respawning resources?

do people know if resources like elven trees and what not respawn?

Most resources do not respawn.
small mushrooms do regrow, in the Mine areas small blocks of ores do respawn, but that's about it.

so at some point you're just gonna run out of elven wood?
it does say in the description of the elven wood
"the fast-growing wood of elvish forests"

"Fast" is a relative term when you are dealing with elves (who live basically forever) and trees. What may be fast to them could be six hundred years to a mortal. Fast-growing trees may take only a few years to reach massive redwood size, instead of a few decades.

so tree grows roughly 100 years. for an elf it's like one season of crops for us

I don't think you'll "run out" of Elven wood, as you really don't need that much of it before you'll need the next tier of wood, which looks like a mushroom and grows in abundance down in the deeps.

You can always create a new world just for resources, pack your dwarf full of resource and go back to your "main" world and enjoy

I'm doing this, currently. Just made a sandbox world and I go there and just plunder it. I kinda wish the recipes you unlock carried over, though. My campaign world didn't give me pants until Tier 3.
